Current Obsession

Unfortunately, Kevin let it slip a day or two after Valentine's Day that he had seriously contemplated buying me an iPad for Valentine's Day.  I say unfortunately because now I can't stop thinking about the iPad lol.  I am happy that he didn't buy it for me but very appreciative that he thought about getting it for me and that he now supports the idea of getting one :)  I knew that an iPad 2 was in the works and should be coming out soon so I didn't want to get the original iPad so close to the launch of a 2nd.  Kevin also thought about that [and the price haha] and decided it was best to wait for the 2nd one to come out.

The original iPad

The ability to read books on it like a Kindle

So, ever since Kevin told me about his plans to buy me one, I have been researching the original, reviews of it and also any information that may be leaked about the 2nd.  And then, finally, it was leaked online that there will be a meeting on March 2nd about the new iPad 2!

So, even though it will be announced and all the cool new stuff that is going to be added to the iPad 2 will be shown, it probably won't actually be on sale until this summer, which is fine.  This gives us a few months to save up for it and then it won't just be a splurge purchase :)  Possibly an anniversary or birthday present?  haha

Strand Brewing Co. Brewery Tour

Today Rich, the co-owner of the Strand Brewing Co., gave a few of us from Kincaid's a tour of the brewery.  Kincaid's was one of the first restaurants/bars to have the Strand 24th St. Pale Ale so it was nice to have a look at one of the up-and-coming local breweries.  [And Kevin has been working there for about the last seven months and of course I hear about the brewery ALL the time haha]

I think everyone had a great time and it was a great chance to gain more knowledge of the brewing process and well as seeing all the different things that Kevin works so hard on.

Super Bowl!!

The Super Bowl came this past Sunday and Nick, the huge Packers fan that he is, was so excited for the game (of course).

Gross thing that was in the beer the guys were drinking
The Packers won - a little trivia tip - did you know that the G on the Packers hats stands for "Greatness" and not for Green Bay?  How crazy is that haha

Baby Leo Robert Reiswig!

Today my cousin Matt, and his wife Jill, had their second beautiful son, Leo Robert Reiswig!  They already have one son, Pete, who is two years old and welcomed a new addition to the family.

Welcome Leo!

I am so happy for Matt, Jill and Pete and can't wait to meet new baby Leo.  It's unfortunate that we have all gone in different directions now that we have grown older [Matt and Jill live in Minnesota, as well as Matt's sister and my other cousin, Heather] but nonetheless, we try to remain close and involved as much as we can.  It looks like a trip to Minnesota is in store - but maybe we'll wait until after winter has passed :)

Can't wait to meet you, Leo, and welcome to this crazy family :)

C.L.A.S.S.

So, after Danny's good-bye dinner we of course got home late and I had to be up bright and early for my first day of tutoring on campus at CSU Dominguez Hills.  I will now tutor Tuesday/Thursdays from 9am-2pm, then have class from 2:30-3:45, a break until 7pm and then officially done with the day at 9:45pm.  This means I will physically be on campus from 9am-10pm - which, yes, is a long day lol.

This is the website for the tutoring center

Overall it will be great experience and I'm so glad that I will have the chance to get some experience tutoring college-aged students, especially since I hope to teach that age once done with my Master's.

Au Revoir Danny Cheng

Danny signed up for the National Guard and Monday was his good-bye dinner at Manhattan Beach Brewing Company.  It was nice to go out with our friends but sad to have to say good-bye to Danny.

Nick bought Danny a shot

Danny's reaction to Maker's Mark haha

Dalia showed up after her class got out and she had just enough time for a big, huge German bretzel (pretzel for you English speaking people)

To Danny:  Be safe and good luck with your training.  Come back to us soon and I hope you have an amazing experience.  We will miss you for the four months you will be gone.
