Jessica Simpson Movie

Howdy . . . well due to the internship I was doing at Millennium Films, I was able to go to the set of Major Movie Star which is Jessica Simpson's new movie. They just had to film a few extra scenes to wrap up the movie so it was pretty cool. She was right there, in front of me, doing her thing and so when the movie comes out, I'm going to be like, hey, I saw that getting filmed! It was a little slow and not a lot to do for most of the time we were on the set, but it was just cool to be there. I also got my camera back - or at least, a new one that the company paid for. It's basically the same thing but a little different - and it's bright pink :) We also went to Lobster Fest last Saturday with our friend, Anthony who is a bartender at Kincaid's with Kevin. After that we met up with Carrie, another girl we work with at Kincaid's and we played a little shuffleboard. Of course, the girls won as you can see from the picture of me and scoreboard :) Well everyone . . . hope you're having a great week!!

Rough Day

Yesterday was a long crazy day. First of all, Kevin just bought his new car about three months ago and had to take it in to get serviced and apparently they say that he needs new breaks already. So we were pretty bummed out that we already had to pay for new brakes so soon. Then we get back to the apartment complex and Kevin sees that my bike isn't where it usually is in the garage. Now, I've just gotten this beautiful new bike like three weeks ago so I'm pretty upset that obviously someone stole it. Then we walk around the side of the building and see a car parked with about three bikes in the trunk and another bike stuffed into the backseat with a wheel poking out the side door. I immediately realized that this bike in the backseat was mine from the pink/white tire. So of course I run over there and I'm like, that's my bike! You're stealing my bike! And I think that since I obviously found my bike, that I'm going to get it back. But instead, the two guys who were doing the stealing were like middle-aged crack heads who weren't even paying attention to anything we were saying. We just tried to tell them to leave the bikes and they could go, we didn't care but they kept trying to drive forward, which was into a wooden fence. They didn't seem to comprehend that they couldn't get away, they were at a dead end. But in the process they kept banging my bike into a side fence because they were stuck and then they turned left, driving into another dead end and ran the side of the car into a tree, continuing to destroy my bike. Ultimately they knocked over a pole that was holding up a balcony and they took the bikes out of their cars and ran them over on their way back out of the apartment complex. Sadly, now no one gets to use this bike because they are completely destroyed. It was crazy because we kept calling the police to tell them that we had these guys on the property, they were stuck at a dead-end for over twenty minutes before figuring out how to get out and still, the police didn't come for at least another twenty minutes after that. To make a long story short, the bad guys got away but the police have their license plate number so we'll see what happens. I'm posting pictures of the "crime scene" to show that these guys did some property damage to the apartment complex as well. This wooden fence got busted in a few places and a pole was knocked over and you can see the caution tape haha. If my bike has to get stolen, at least it's stolen with some excitement and a story. Hope everyone else is having a better day! haha

Broken Camera

Thanks for all of you that wished me Happy Birthday out there :) I had a fantastic birthday - we spent it in Pismo Beach with the family. . . me, Kevin, Lindy, mom, dad and Amy. Oh, and also little Tilders. We had a lot of fun in the sun, on the beach and played a lot of beach volleyball. And we also ate a lot of food, which is what we Portagees are known to do. The parade was fun to watch, as usual, and I got lots of great birthday presents. However, it was more than enough just to have everyone together having a good time. These are some pictures from last weekend . . . I'll be posting more soon but as of right now my camera is dead - I think some sand got in it while we were on the beach and so now it's not working. Hopefully I'll be able to get it covered by my extended warranty and have a new one or at least one up and running in no time. Until then, fewer pics. Boo.

My Birthday :)

Hello everyone out there in blog land. Today's theme is "What does Jennifer want for her birthday?" Now, I have gotten some of these things already, but I thought I'd include them anyway. I would like either an iPod shuffle or Nano for my b-day since I now have a bike, yes, that's right, one almost exactly like the picture on this blog, so I need to listen to some tunes while I'm bike riding to work. The bike was from Kevin for my birthday and I have ridden it to work almost everyday since. I would also like a new pair of 7 for all Mankind jeans since the ones like these in the picture I used to own but wore them throughout Europe and a hole got worn into them. I would also like a Louis Vuitton purse like the one shown here but I know I'm going to hear about that, because, yes I do already have two and no, I don't really need another one. But maybe I do :) Hey, this is a wish list so there! Also, my hair is now almost the color of Lindsay Lohan's in this picture shown here, so be prepared when you seen me next! My friend Brittney is a hostess at the restaurant I work at and her mom owns a salon here in Redondo, and she also is a hair stylist, so she did my hair for me tonight and we just finished at like 11pm so that's some dedication on her part. I am also like very tan and almost black from playing volleyball everyday so yeah :) Have a good day! Wish me luck - I have an interview on Thursday for an internship with a production company. Yippee!

New Fridge!!!!

Yesterday was a great day - both Kevin and I had the day off and so we hung out at the beach, played some volleyball, Kevin donated his old car to a charity and we found a fridge on craigslist and brought it home! Yea! I don't know if everyone out there knows this but Kevin and I have been using Kevin's old mini-fridge for about two months now. We bought a fridge at a garage sale right before we moved to Redondo but it stopped working after like two weeks but we were working so much and didn't want to buy a brand new one so it took a little while to track down a cheap but good fridge. Luckily yesterday we found the perfect one and now we have cold items :) Also, I have begun re-reading Harry Potter since the release of #7 has come out. I went to the Redondo Beach library a week ago, last Tuesday, and checked out 1-4. I thought I had 5 and 6 at my apartment but apparently I left #5 at home in Mo-Town. Anyway, I finished #1 on Wed., finished #2 on Friday, finished #3 last night and now I am starting #4. I can't wait to finish them all so I can get to #7 finally. I wanted to post a picture of my new fridge but I can't seem to find a picture of it. Give me a few days, peeps, and I'll see what I can do. Hope everyone's doing well!

Lindy's Visit to the Dondo

Hey there everyone out in the internet world. Today I am posting pics from the last few days that Lindy was here. She was here from last Thursday to today and it was really fun having her here. We did a lot of sightseeing in L.A. and even some some paparazzi outside the Beverly Hills Hotel but unfortunately we didn't see why they were waiting or who they were waiting for. I have a picture that I'm posting of them haha. We also hit up Hollywood and I have a picture of myself finally holding hands with Matt Damon (he just got his hands and feet imprinted in cement outside the Graumann theater). So that was definitely a special moment. :) We also saw the Kodak theater where they have the Academy Awards and even the American Idol finale - Lindy was really excited about seeing that. We also went to Rodeo Drive, as you can tell by the pictures, and we even hit up Sprinkles. Now, those of you who don't know what Sprinkles are, they are a small cupcake shop and apparently are very popular and almost famous now because all these celebrities eat them or they're just talked about it in magazines. So I decided that I had to track them down and try one. Kevin and I each got a cupcake - but this is a small store, I'm talking so tiny that you can only fit a few people in it and like one small counter by the window for people to sit (maybe 4 people can sit at the counter). Since it's so small, everyone has to stand outside in line so it looks like it's going to take forever to order a cupcake, but actually it only takes a few minutes. Kevin was applauded by the ladies in front of us for being the only male person in line haha. The deal with this shop is they have certain flavors on certain days - I got a "Black and White" which was chocolate cupcake with white frosting and sprinkles. Kevin got a carrot cake flavored one and we both took a big bite and enjoyed the cupcake. But we could only eat like two bites because the frosting is so sweet and rich. Definitely nice to try but hard to eat the whole thing. There's also a picture of the new frisbee we got from mom and dad in Alaska. See how it's purple in the picture? That's because we were in the sunlight and it changes color with the light. Amazing!
